Frequently Asked Questions

Learn How WE Work!

Are there ways I can I get involved?

Every year Riverside Performing Arts takes up to 4 trainees aged 18-30 as part of the Riverside Academy programme. Alongside the 9 month leadership and discipleship programme trainees who choose the performing arts pathway also have the opportunity to train and act with the Theatre Company during their time at the Academy. We also offer week-long work experience placements for 2 or 3 school age students per year. Younger members aged 6-12 can join us for REACT summer school to train in the performing arts at our yearly summer schools. Riverside Performing Arts also relies on a team of regular financial supporters who enable us to continue in our work by their generous charitable giving.

How far would you travel to do a performance or workshop?

Project prices on our website relate to performances undertaken in the Midlands area. We are happy to travel throughout the UK but this may incur an additional travel cost. This cost would be worked out at the time of booking enquiry.

Are you connected to a local church?

Riverside Performing Arts is one of the missional teams of Riverside Church, a multi-site church that meets in a number of gatherings across South Birmingham, affiliated to the Evangelical Alliance. We work in close connection with the church in our mission and vision.

I have an idea for a project I would like but I can’t see anything that fits in with it on your website. Can you help?

We are happy to discuss tailor making projects for your own requirements be this a performance, workshop or a longer residency project.

How much do your performances and workshops cost?

Please see each individual projects for prices. However, we would never want cost to be a barrier so please do ring us directly to discuss costs if this is an issue.

Do you require a stage or PA for your performances?

Our performances generally do not require a stage and we bring all of our own PA and, where appropriate, microphones with us. At the time of booking, we can discuss hall/ room size required for the performance or workshop booked.
