The new student drama team started with us on Monday 30th September. We are thrilled to have a group of 3 girls and 3 boys – Alice, Hosanna, Naomi, Joe, Sam and Stephen. Here’s a little bit about each of them:
“Hello, my name is Alice. I’m 23 and come from Kent. Last year I completed a degree in Acting at Brighton University. I am so excited to be here and feel I have finally found God’s path for me. Throughout this year, I would like to understand and grow deeper in my relationship with God as well as make amazing new friends and develop my performance skills.”
“Hi I’m Hosanna, I’m from a small country town in the USA. I have always loved theatre ever since I was very young. After graduation, I found Riverside Performing Arts course on the internet. Now I’m in England and I’m loving every bit of it! God has been blessing me and stretching me every day since I’ve been here!”
“Hello, I’m Naomi, I’m 18 and I just finished studying for A levels in Drama, English Literature and Performing Arts. I applied for deferred entry to study Drama at University as it always seemed right to do a gap year, giving a year of my life to God. I really believe he has led me here and I know that throughout this year I am going to continue to be overwhelmed and amazed by His unconditional love. I come from a small town called Fleet in Hampshire so moving to the city is a big adjustment but fortunately my brother and grandparents live close by. I’m so excited to spend the next year with RPA and cannot wait to get started!”
“Hi, I’m Joe and I have lived in Bolivia for the last 10 years with my family as missionaries. I have always had a side of me that loves drama so I really felt that doing RPA would be a great way to settle back into England by meeting new people and doing something I enjoy. Also I think it’ll be a fantastic way to grow in my faith and build an even stronger relationship with God in my life.”
“Hi I’m Sam Pelham. Top of the morning (+ afternoon and evening and any time in between). Born in Lincoln and lived on a farmstead in a small, cute hamlet on the Lincolnshire coast. Last year I finished A levels – took a year to gain experience and money. Found about RPA and loved the sound of it – faith and performance passions combined.”
“Hi, I’m Stephen and I’ve been coming to Riverside church for about 6 months now. I found my faith through many Riversiders. I’ve been studying my English degree for a number of years so it’s really exciting to continue to experience God while I take a new step with my literature studies.”
The team are already hard at work rehearsing for assembly performances in primary schools from Monday 14th October. We know they will have a transformational year and we look forward to all God has in store for them!
